I made this cap for my husband in 1995 also. My 1st prayer cap can be see on my blog post prayer cap 1, http://syedaiffat.blogspot.com/2008/10/prayer-cap_4512.html .This is the samme pattern but i used steel crochet hook nr 1.50 mm.

1: I made this cap for my son in 1995 with a very thin crochet thread and used 0.75 mm. steel crochet hook for this. I cann't remember exactly, how many chain made for make a ring. I made a ring and dc and 2 ch and make 8 holes and 4 dc in every hole. Increase 2 dc in 1st and last dc, 2 ch and continue to about 2o dc and start with decrease to make a flower shape and between you can make some flower or any desigen, which you like and after that no increase, no decrease, so it give a eadge look. 2: For these caps i used cotton yarn and 2.50 mm. almunium crochet hook. I used this cotton yarn for nr 2 caps.
